| ASUS P5B Deluxe Socket T LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Mobo PC PROBE FAN PROB
Here is the Motherboard I have: http://tinyurl.com/ylaetl
I have installed everything in the comp, its running good theres just 1 thing I would really like to get fixed. My ASUS came with a program called PC PROBE II V1.03.02 and it keeps warning me that my case fan is slow. It runs at about 1300RPM. Now it only detects 1 of my 2 case fans. I figure the 2nd fan just isn't plugged well into the mobo and I could fix it easily but I don't think that is the case because in the BIOS I can see how fast it goes. And it goes around the same speed, 1300RPM. Now this ASUS program as I'm sure you all know lets you create profiles so you can save the settings so the comp fans can be going faster or slower when you want. I want to make my 2 case fans run at 2000rpm while I'm running games, maybe faster. When I run games the CPU can reach a temperature of 60c-65c sometimes but usually it is around 50c-56c around there... But when not playing games it always stays at 40c-44c. There is only one connector I didn't plug into my mobo and it came from the PSU. I asked a friend about it and he thinks its a fan controller. I couldn't find a place on the mobo where it would be and looked over and over again. I have a pic of the cable but I can't upload it to any sites for some reason my camera phone saves pics as bin files... But if anyone thinks this pic can help please post your email and I will email you the pic. Please if someone could help me get this program up and running I'd appreciate it, thanks. Also what is the maximum temperature you guys think the CPU and Mobo should reach before I turn off some programs/the computer?
BTW here are my other comp parts if needed,

Could someone post a site url where I can upload this 40kb picture. The pic is in a .bin file I hope you will be able to see it. You can download it and see it though just by opening it with any image viewing program. |

try this thread for more info
edit: i'm not certain what the extra connection would be but if it comes off the power supply then it won't be a fan controller

I'm pretty sure it was connected to the PSU. When I went to look for it later I couldn't even find it... it looked for awhile but gave up. I'm gonna look again later tonight to make sure its from the PSU. I read every page of the internal connectors in the mobo manual and it said nothing for this cable.
EDIT: I just got the ASUS program to read the 2nd case fan but I still cannot adjust the speed.

as for the speeds of the fans you need to read through the thread i linked for you. some fans just don't allow throttling who manufactured the fans you have?
AND FYI DON'T CLICK THAT PIC IT GOES TO SOME OFFENSIVE MATERIALS |

OK so the fans are already suppost to be able to be controlled just by being plugged into the mobo? Why can't I control any of the case fans? I see that not all cpu fans are compatable but aren't all case fans the same? |
