From the description of your notebook:
• VIA Chipset-integrated UnichromeTM PRO graphics core, with up to
64 MB of shared memory
• NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5700 with 64 MB of video memory
So which is it?
The processor in the notebook they are offering is slower, but it has more RAM, probably a longer battery life, and might be more upgradeable processor-wise.
Intel GMA950 is integrated graphics. It does 3d but very poorly. If your current laptop has the VIA chip it's even worse. If your current laptop has the NVIDIA chip, that's much faster but drains more battery and runs hotter.
Looks like the one they are offering also has a DVD burner.

if you feel you have some bargining skills you might see if they'll give you this: http://www.acer.com.sg/products/aspi...aspire5680.asp
or see if you can suppliment the price, this gives you an opportunity to get full operational price of your laptop in an upgrade if they'll do it.
Edit: on a laptop typically a graphics card upgrade involves a entirely different computer. |
