3DMark06 low fps

Just dwnlded 3DMark06. Big file - glad I have 5 Mb cable service.

Ran the Demo. Program ran @ 1280 x 1024, w/ NO Antialiasing. Why am I getting roughly 6 FPS on the Proxycon Demo? I thought I had a fairly decent system:

Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego
Asus A8N-SLI deluxe
2 GB Corsair PC-3200
BFG 7800 GT
WD 70+ GB Raptor
WinXP Pro w/sp2

Do I need a patch or something? My Aquamark scores are great for a non OC'd system. Thanks.

that's a pretty demanding program.... most likely you would need to have a 7900 or even an 8K series graphics card + a dual core cpu to get some good scores....

have you looked at the benchmarks here at Tech IMO ..?

also.. i am running a A64 3000+ @ 2.4 ghz and 1gig of ddr400, 6800(pipes unlocked) and i still get a crappy score on Aquamark 3...

I'm going to guess around 3000 on 3DMark 06. I'll run it again tonight to make sure. I was also mistaken on my card, (I'm always building something or working on somebody else's PC). I'm running the BFG factory OC'd 7800GT/256MB card.

I think I hit maybe 60,000 or 70,000 on Aquamark(?)

I don't think I have updated video drivers in 9 - 10 months.

I also have one of those FX-55? or 56? 2.6 GHz CPUs to pop in to replace the 3700, just haven't had time yet.
