OK folks,
I think I'm going to buy Vista this week with all the promotions. Here is my question:
Right now, I have a 400GB drive with 3 partitions: 1) XP Home; 2) Vista RC2; and 3) Data files. I want to replace the RC2 partition with the Home Premium Upgrade. However, with all of M$ new digital rights management, I'm afraid that this upgrade might mean that I lose XP.
For example, right now when you upgrade to XP home, all you have to do is insert an older OS disc and it will allow a fresh complete install of XP. However, you don't "lose" the original OS (i.e. 98SE, W2K), and could in fact use that OS on another partition.
But with Windows verification, I'm concerned that somehow my XP OS will be disabled upon activation of the Vista copy. Or does it work just like XP?
