Well ladies and gents....the HDD problem was nothing but..well the HDD. I finally was allowed to go home after fussing with the whole thing for basically the whole day and my boss said he would play with it some more to try and figure it out. Well he called me a little later and told me he got it. I guess he ran Norton's Emergency disk doctor on it and it found a crapload of errors on the drive. He said he had to run it about 5 times just to be sure that all the errors were corrected. After he did all that he said it worked just fine. *Sigh* What a day what a day.

Well another small update folks....I came into work today to finish up the hell computer. I was able to properly format and copy the setup files of Win2k onto the drive. I was exstatic. Once the setup files are copied..it restarts to take you to the graphical setup of Win2k. Well...it wouldn't boot into the setup!!! The cursor would just sit there forever!!!

SO once again I had to look for a workaround. After sifting through stupid microsoft's site, I found an article on how to create a boot disk when that allows you to boot into the OS when you're having booting troubles (yes those be lots of boots ) Anyway, I copied the necessary files from another Win2k machine(ntldir and ndetect.com and created Boot.ini) and booted from it and now its working...lord!!!! What is this things problem! I guess I have to calm down and look at it from a learning standpoint.

Otherwise I might just go postal

Isn't all that why I'm addicted to computers? The challenge? Until my hair hurts?
