C2D Mobo?
I am building a new gaming system and will probably be ordering it late May to early June. I have most of my components selected but I can never pick out a good motherboard. Could any of you guys suggest a good motherboard for me? Thanks!
Some components I've chosen:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
Patriot Memory 2GB PC2-6400 DDR2 (2 x 1GB)
eVGA 8800 GTS (640 MB)AMD Athlon 64 3400 @ 2.2Ghz
BFG GeForce 6800 GT
1.5 GB Corsair XMS DDR400--R.I.P. My first self-built comp

You should NOT be picking out parts right now, if your not planning on building this for a couple months. By the time you want to build it, there will be better parts available.
A P965 chipshet would be ideal. Are you planning on OCing? Want it to be SLI capable?

Yeah I realize that there will be new parts out, prices will change, etc., but I want to get a general idea of what parts I'm going to be using. I definitely want a pretty good overclocking mobo, and SLI would be good for a possible upgrade later on. I'm not really sure what to set for a budget because I don't want to end up with a dumpy board if I set it too low, but more than $150 would probably be too much (Unless of course, there was something worth spending the extra month on). I want a reasonable board that can handle OC'ing and can handle some decently hardcore gaming (oxymoron?
). Thanks for your reply.
