1st: didge the capitol letters, it's considered shouting and rude across forums.
2nd: tell us what you had in mind, I mean, I can put a system together for ya that will spank any other gaming system across the room, but that would cost ya couple a thousands.
You have a budget in mind?? Where do you live?? UK, US?? Do you prefer AMD or Intel??

Are you looking to build a budget, mid-range, or high-end gaming rig. The difference in price can be hundreds of euros. |

Because of the higher price that he will be paying per part (because of his location) 800e roughly equals 850 American dollars... Try fitting an e6300 and an 8800GTS into that budget. I'd suggest an AMD Athlon 64 or if you must, a Pentium D. an Athlon 64 will offer more gaming performance, but a Pentium D setup has the potential to upgrade to a core 2 Duo if your willing for a $150 upgrade down the road. Obviously any DX10 card will be out of the question, as it will cost almost half of his budget. (305e plus shipping and taxes http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=332090) 2 Gigs of RAM would be good, but if you are wanting this to be a balanced out system, 1 Gig is enough for gaming on XP. That's the next topic. XP or Vista. XP currently would be my choice of an OS for driver and compatibility issues. If you end up going with Vista for a gaming rig, someday down the line, you are going to need 2 GB of RAM just to stop the constant stutering in the games you'll be playing, because vista (and all the background apps) will take up their fair share of memory and resources compared to XP.
Carl, in his other thread, he said he was buying everything from here: http://www.komplett.ie/k/k.asp
And he's using Euros, not pounds.
And if he can order through overclockers, his budget would be more like 550 GBP (Pounds) remember that taxes, shipping and other expenses would still apply, and if they don't have warehouses in Ireland, then there would be other fees such as customs fees and other taxes added on.

no an E6300 definatly, and maybe a less expensive card, but definatly an E6300. and vista or XP, his choice. if he does XP he may have tio upgrade down the road somewhere. but vista has lots of bugs (but the big ones and driver issues should be gone in a few months). its his coice |

A video card is the last thing that should be skimped on (If he wants the best gaming performance his money can buy). An Athlon 64 will not be a bottleneck to any cards out there ATM. At least not for the next couple years or so. |

Don't forget about the E4300 & soon to be released E4400. These have 200MHz FSB & can be paired with PC4200 ram for a budget system.
Intel has some major price cuts coming on April 22, so it would be a good idea to wait 7-8 weeks before ordering. |
