I bought some software yesterday---Cakewalk Music Creator 3 and Magix Movie Edit Pro 11...however, when I try to instal them i recieve the message "regedit.exe is not a valid Win32 application".
Ive looked on here a little for some solutions and unchecked all the hidden files and folder boxes in folder options in the control panel, but that doesnt help.i went to delete regedit.com but i could not find it. Ive scanned my computer with mcafee for viruses but it returned no results.what do i do?????
I can almost guarantee that it's not regedit that's your problem. *And DON'T delete regedit, it's a very usefull tool to go in and edit some properties of your registry*
You runnin' XP?
Secondly, how'd you obtain the software, download or on CD?

And thus it was spoken by the mighty Uss. And it was so.
I bought them at my local Best Buy...I was really looking forward to using them but If I can't get it working by tomorrow afternoon I'm taking them back.
Go to Tools menu and choose Folder Options.
Next choose the View tab.
Select Show hidden files and folders.
Next uncheck the box next to Hide extensions for known file types.
Then uncheck the box next to Hide protected operating system files
(Recommended).
Now go in to the C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder and the look for cmd (or
regedit).
See if there are two files with same name, but with different extensions.
Delete the file with the .com extension, also note they are 0 KB in
size.
