step 1
step 2
select the iso on your drive. Then power on the machine, as long as the iso is bootable you will boot to it (you will also might want to check the vmware bios to make sure booting to cdrom first is selected) |

Ok, but say I want to go out and get a new pc or build one. How do I make the ISO DVD image bootable? Same for the Restore CD...
Ok, Home Server is not liking VMware's virtual disk...damn, now I gotta get an el cheapo pc.
Puter guy dave:
Can you install home server and then use other applications on it (you know, like a "regular" pc)? Or is it pretty much a standalone box for this?
Thanks again all |

the other two disks. can wait, the connector software is in home server,
so you can install it from that, with out burning it,
the restore disk, you only need if your box crashes |

No, it will not boot from the image I burned.
Sorry to be a pest our sound mad, but I've been around PC's since the 8088 and I guess I'm getting frustrated I can't do a simple task likeI should be able to
No GZ...this is Microsoft's Home Server invatation software. I saw that puterguy dave had it and it looked SLICK, so I signed up for it. Took about 5 weeks for me to get the invitation though! |

ah, see if you can boot to the cd on a different machine. I don't think vmware has any support for MS home server |
