Best way to save/transfer recovery section HDD to HDD?

    Hi,

I have a Gateway 4542GP notebook with a small, slow HDD I am replacing with a Seagate Momentus. I want to do a clean install on the new drive, but am wondering what would be the best way to go about using the recovery partition. I have a couple of notebook to desktop HDD cables (that also double as usb external drives), FWIW.

Can I use ghost to copy just the recovery partition to the other HDD that's connected via usb? Steps and version of ghost needed? Other, better way?

    Thanks in advance.

I would clone the old drive to the new and then run the recovery...
