Help with SATA Hard Drive
Hey there
Well I bought a new SATA hard drive today cos my old hard drive crashed. I've installed the new SATA one correctly and as how my motherboard manual says but when I startup my PC nothing happens, like theres no signal to my monitor. At first I thought it was because my monitor was attached to my graphics card and that hasn't been installed yet cos of the new hard drive so I attached my monitor to the main motherboard and it's still now working. Nothing happens at all, just no signal on my monitor and it goes to standby mode. Please could anyone help me with this.
Thanks for your help and time.

Sounds like you knocked something loose when you installed the hard disk. You should at least see the POST screen on your monitor (even without a hard disk installed in your machine). Go back in your box and check all your power supply connections to your motherboard, reseat your RAM, etc.

I've just had a look and nothing is out of place, just re-adjusted my RAM and everything is connected up properly. My screen says 'RGB No Input Signal', which it also says when my PC is off and my screen goes to standby mode. =\

Try putting the old hard drive back in, and see if it starts up then. You should be seeing a POST screen no matter what. Try reseating your gpu, and see if that does it

How do you know your "old hard drive crashed"?
Did your PC post before you tried installing this SATA drive.
Sounds to me like you may have problems elsewhere.

I've fixed it now, it was because I had two GPU's in, my main graphics card and the onboard graphics, so I took out my graphics card and now it works. Will I be able to put my graphics card becak in after I've installed windows?
