Vista Users... Do NOT install update KB932596

Well if you want to do any sort of tweaking, or even something as simple as monitoring your temps, do NOT install that updated, it may be listed as something else in the 32bit version, but in 64bit vista, its KB932596.

After I installed it, none of my video card utilities would work anymore (ATItool, ATI Tray Tools, or even Riva Tuner) not only that, Core Temp would no longer function. Apparently, this update really cracks down on unsigned drivers, which the majority of these freeware type programs use, and all the tweaks I have found in the past to disable driver signing have failed to work after this update. Since then I have done a system restore and reinstalled the updates, minus that particular one.

Course, not allowing unsigned drivers is a built in security feature of the 64 bit version of Vista....

Microsoft to require signed drivers for 64-bit Vista

Yes, I'm well aware that it a Vista feature, however, prior to the update you had the option of disabling it if you needed to... A lot of pople on here are using porgrams like Coretemp, Atitool, tray tools or riva tuner... These are just four that I found wouldn't work anymore within an hours time. With the new update, you don't have the luxury of disabling it and none of those programs will work. If you don't mind not being able to use them, or other software that may not have signed drivers, by all means, install it.
