| about time i upgraded :)
Hi guys, im new to these forums, so hi
Its come to the point where i not only want a new system, but i NEED one. My current spec is as follows:
AMD 2400+ (2.0ghz)
512 ram
radeon 9600 series
....
i need advice on a good system spec that is affordable, but can handle games such as Half Life 2, Call of Duty 2, Guild Wars etc at high settings, with no trouble. But also, can run upcoming dx10 games like Crysis, UT3 etc. I live in the Uk by the way, so if you know any reliable custom PC building websites, that would also be helpful My budget is flexible, but I'd like to find a system under £800/£850.
thanks in advance |

Google converts that to a max of about $1700 USD, so my last theory build looked something like this (prices from ZipZoomFly after a couple of rebates):
$200 - E6750 CPU (you could easily upgrade to the quad on your budget unless stuff is much more expensive over there)
$230 - 204BW 20" LCD
$115 - EVGA 122-CK-NF66-A1 nForce 650i
$300 - EVGA 320-P2-N815-AR e-GeForce 8800 GTS
$120 - OCZ OCZ2FX800C42GK DDR2 PC2-6400 2GB Kit FlexXLC
That's $965 shipped after rebates, add your own case, power supply, hard drive, and optical and you can keep it in budget, country transition approving.

To save yourself the headache of buying components, sticking them together and running into problems, you could browse through quad core gaming systems on eBay and get everything you need for the budget of £800 (without a screen)
For example, checkout the system here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA:IT&ih=010
Its within your budget and is built with performance components such as motherboard, processor and graphics card.
On the other hand, if you wish to upgrade single components, take a look at the following UK websites: www.scan.co.uk www.microdirect.co.uk www.misco.co.uk www.maplins.co.uk
