Acer aspire notebook CPU upgrade help - s754

Hi, just been asked if i could upgrade an "Acer aspire 3002WLC" notebook, and havent had a lot of experience with laptops .

My main concern is buyin a new processor and it not be compatable. Its a Socket A and is currently running a Sempron 2800+. I cant work out what max FSB i can use....(the sempron says 200MHz, this max?)

What is the fastest cpu that could be installed?
something like this hopefully 64-bit will be an issue?

The 2800 is probably the best you can do on a socket a...The cpu you linked to would need a different mobo...

Some "mobil" processors will work in desktops...Not sure if you can go the other way around...

Your new choice says: Specified working frequency in MHz: 3200 - 2.20GHz (FSB400)

You'll need to find out if the mobo can't support the FSB...

If you need more horsepower - might consider selling the current machine and getting a newer one.

mmm may have to stick with 2800+...

im guessing IF the desk top cpu did work it would eat battery power quickly to...oh well
