Ipod not being recognized...unknown device

Hi all,


My sister's Dell demented (XP) suddenly won't recognize her Ipod. Gets the USB device not recognized bubble in the system tray (when removing/replacing cable), and Unknown Device is listed in device manager. She thinks the trouble started after a Lexmark printer installation, but not absolutely sure.

I've tried different usb ports, with the same result. What's the best way to get this puppy working again? I'm a little rusty...

Possibility the iPod stopped syncing with PC and may be the problem. Try it in another PC to rule that out.
