Greetings all,
I must say I am impressed by the list so far, some things I have found on this thread make total sense to me, although I probably would have never thought about it until I needed it. I give great thanks to everyone contributing to this list and look forward to seeing what others can come up with. With that said, I would like to add a couple of rather "odd" items. These come from my experience working for a repair depot, servicing Apple, HP, & Xerox hardware.
New 20 & 24 inch iMacs have a full glass front that requires a special tool to remove, in order to reach the case screws. One could buy the "special" tool from apple for $80. We imporvised with a set of sink plungers. I figured that would be too bulky to pack in a toolbox, so while shopping at Harbor Freight, I found these handy small suction cups. They are only 2 or 3 dollars a piece, and far more mobile. You can actually do a google search or search directly from their website.
Also, as strange as it may seem, we used a steel putty knife to open the cases of the Mac Mini.
I hope that this may be of use to someone.
