Poor Lost Planet Performance
I'm trying to play Lost Planet in DX10 with medium/high settings @ 1920x1080 and I'm getting terrible FPS (5-15 fps). Is it really that taxing, or is there another problem occurring?

Well what are your computer specs and operating system? Do you have the latest drivers?

Hi there.
The first obvious question, have you checked to make sure that your running the newest drivers for the GPU?
If that's a go, are you running the latest chipset drivers?
Also, have you tried turning down the setting for the game, to see if that affects the problem at all?
A 37" screen is probably running a large resolution, which obviously makes the GPU work extra hard. From what I've read on those cards though, they should be able to handle it.
Try the above, and report back any findings!

Lost Planet was poorly coded...and regardless, is still a very taxing game..
Hell, I have a hard time running it @ 1024x768 w/ no AA/AF but max otherwise in DX9...

You are probably running too much for your system to handle (the game being poorly coded doesn't help at all)Main PC: AMD FX-8350 / 16gb DDR3 1600 / AMD 7970GE 1200mhz Core & 1600mhz Mem / Win7 Pro 64bit

Yes, Yes, I set it to medium but I'm still getting crappy fps.
I looked at the benchmarks for it on another website and it showed them getting 25-30 fps on all high settings 1600x1200 4x AA dx10 with a 8800GTX, why can't I get 25-30 fps on mixed high/medium settings at 1920x1080 0xAA dx10 with a 3870 512?My PC:37" 1080p Sceptre LCD - ASUS VENTO Case - 500w Ultra PSU - P5B Deluxe - e4300 @ 3.4ghz - 4GB DDR800 - VistionTek HD3870 - Plantronics DSP-500

Because 1920x1080 is more stressful than 1600x1200 (not by much, mind you) and that 8800gtx is a good deal faster than your 3870. Also, IIRC Lost planet runs better on nvidia cards.

It isn't rocket science... DX10 + 1080p resolution + taxing game on a single HD 3870 is not going to get you stellar performance. I'd recommend dropping to 1280x720 (720p)

I prefer not to be stopped in the street just because someone decided my clothes were "wrong" or my hair was "too long". I do understand and partly agree with your point, but this was too much, IMO.
Do you think this was a legitimate...
