    C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Temp

    Hey all

I am running out of space on my c: drive and when looking through what dirs where taking up space I found this out C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Temp. It had about 3gb of files in it. Is it safe to delete this dir? I couldn't tell what it was used for? I am running XP.

Reboot your PC then delete everything in the temp folder. Anything in use will not delete, so try again with other files until you get rid of most of them. Perfectly safe to delete, as it only contains temporary files, which really should be cleaned up by the applications which left them there in the first place.

If you're running out of space, freeing up 3GB is but a temporary fix. You will want to upgrade the drive soon. But to answer your question, yes, it is safe to delete the temp folder.

    Use this:http://www.ccleaner.com/
