I also have mupltiple alternative operating systems (mostly underground projects) installed under VMware workstation in Win2K, plus awaiting a copy of Virtual PC to run OS/2 under Win2K as well. This box is mostly used for gaming and some development work. Actually, I am seated behind a P3 for the majority of each day when working on most of my projects.

Otherwise, I have a P3 800e+DDR+G450 eTV (A/V workstation), a VIA C 733 (family Internet terminal), and a P3 650e notebook (for on the go!) floating around the house, with parts to build several more P3 and a few P4 systems. Though, Athlon parts seem hard to come by at my residence.

Built all of these boxes myself, and each is stable for its intended purpose. Unstable systems have no place in life, as I do not have the free time these days to play around with a poorly designed configuration.

    Catch ya' later,

5 boxes from 800 to 1.2 Ghz (AMD baby)

    1-ECS K75A
    3- 805 ML
    1- KT7-Raid.

3.2 G of RAM between em
ATI Radeon 7200, Kyro ProfitII, Voodoo 5.5, and a couple cheesy ones..
250 Gigs of Hard drives (All Maxtor)
    5 cd's
    2 burners
    1 running 98
    4 XP Pro
and a partridge in a pear tree....

They run 24/7 @ 100% of the CPU I never reboot.. (maybe one once a week.. or if the power goes out )

oh yeah I made em all myself..

Rock solid, unless I dork em up, then I fix em.

(and I've kicked myself in the seat for not buying the Klipsch speakers last year when I could afford them)

I would have bought 2 ECS boards and not just one.
    I hate the Voodoo card....

    No brag here.
old AOpen HX08 full tower with Antec TRUE 330 watt psu
3 Silencers for additional case cooling.
Epox 4BDA2+ mobo (not using the raid features)
    P4 1.8A GHz at 2.4GHz
    512MB PC2100 Crucial
Maxtor 20GB 7.2K for pri master
WD 30GB 7.2K for pri slave
    Plextor 16/10/40 sec master
    Lite-On 40/12/48 sec slave
    64MB nVidia GeForce MX400
    SB PCI512 audio
USR 5610A PCI hardware modem (only for backup now!!)
Kingston KNE100TX for LAN and DSL
    Samsung 950P monitor
    Altec ACS48 speakers

I built it and have built it many times.
    Dual booting 98se and 2K (primarily 2K)
    Rock solid.

Don't know what the heck I need with 2.4GHz but felt the urge. I'm not a gamer and for most of the other stuff I do a good PIII would be plenty. Just like to tinker and upgrade.

edit: doh! forgot the speed rating on my Plex.

Have you had any problems with it? I love the board for all the features it has but I'm not completely sure about Soyo. I've never really heard of them until recently. I have read many reviews on it and have gotten a good impression.

Not really a bragging box, but I built it and it's fast and rock solid.

    Abit KT7A-RAID
256 MB PNY PC133 (Infineon Chips) CAS-2 4 way interleave.
    1.33 GHz T-Bird

    SBLIVE! (original)
    ATI TV Wonder PCI
    Winmodem

Other Cheesy stuff like monitors, case ,optical mouse, printer, blah blah...Cambridge soundworks...

Sandra the imperfect says the memory runs a little behind DDR and the RAID a little faster than what I've got, and the processor beats a few Pentium 4s.
