Well, took my gov't check, $50 in BB reward zone perks and got me a quad core system.
Gateway, Q6600, 2.4 Ghz, 4 Gig RAM, Vista Home Premium 64-bit, 700 Gig HD, ATI 2400XT etc.
For all intents and purposes, it cost me $200. Did I say it was fast? Yeah, scary fast.
I'm never going to get to sleep tonight! |

Nice Roots.
I'm feeling the same excitement over here. I just got my new Quad rig built today. I'm using a MSI P35 board, 2gigs of G.Skill, and my 9600gt. I've already got mine up to 3.5Ghz, and still going..
I won't be getting any sleep tonight either..

I'm not an overclocker, no need to really IMO
You just can't beat the price on those 6600's
Any benchmarking software I can download and test this rig? It's off the grid for now and I may keep it that way, but I can always xfer stuff over. |

Hmmm...
well the quickest download would be Passmark. That tests pretty much everything in your tower.
3D Marks of course, but they are heavely dependent on your GPU, so you really wouldn't get a true score like that...
I'm downloading Passmark atm myself.. |

Shut down all the apps that aren't vital. You'll get a better score that way.
And don't forget to add your score in to the thread, I'll update the list for ya! |

Two items I know...the 2400 XT ain't the best card and I think I have 5300 memory chips; that'll slow down the unit.
Geez, just got it and I have to upgrade ROFL |

ROFL...
It's an addiction, I swear. We should make a support group...
"Hi, my name is Mat, and I'm addicted to upgrading."
Group replies;
"Hi Mat" |
