My wife is on her computer for less than 5 hours a week and the card is a little over 1 year old, (just out of BioStar's 1 yr. warranty)

No idea why they went that quick.

That picture wasn't all that great for viewing. But, those caps are probably crap.
But, my Biostar mobo seems to be working ok still.
400 hours doesn't beat the less than 12 "working" hours Linksys wireless router experience I had.

Call their support and see if they can be flexible with you. Its not like you ran it 24/7 for the year ... they might be willing to work with you because it was used so little.

Thanks, that picture was much better.
Doesn't Gigabyte use solid caps to help them last longer?

A lot of companies are switching to the aluminum caps . . . BioStar, MSI, Asus, DFI, and Abit on MoBo's that I've seen. BioStar, XFX, and Asus on vid cards that I've seen. That's why I'm not happy . . . the aluminum caps are suppose to be better and lost longer.

Don't confuse aluminum caps with solid caps. They look similar, but solids are much smaller and last much longer. These are obviously liquid caps.

Honestly, Biostar needs to stop acting like a B goods vendor.

It would be a waste of time and money to try to RMA this with BioStar. Check out their warranty/RMA policy HERE.

That's right, I would be required to pay shipping and send a $30 M.O. with the card, back to BioStar. I only paid $59 for it brand new, and the amount of time I would spend going through their RMA policy (even if it was still under Warranty), plus packaging, shipping costs, AND the M.O., would exceed the value of the card.

Instead, I bought an XFX 8800GS for mine, gave my XFX 7950GT to my daughter, and gave wifey my daughters card. (The XFX's have a "lifetime" warranty and whenever we've had to RMA one at work, XFX has been real good to work with.)

That was my first and last purchase of a BioStar product.
