Incase youdon't know yet, ASUs has come out with 8.9" screen version of the Eee in two flavors: One is a MS VISTA "12G solid state" (although it's not clear if 8Gbs of that is Flash drive) and a "20 Gb solid state" Linux version (although, again, I haven't been able to make out if 12Gb of that is flash drive, instead of solid State hard drive).
If it is flash drive , also not clear to me if internalor external.
It is sold inpearl white at NEWEGG and at Directron and probably other places.
Now it seems to me that, beyond the "coolness" factor, at that price the biggest selling point is that it is sub-kilogram or 2.2 lbs. aprox.
Not just a Celeron laptop can be bought for that with many amenities , such as optical drive, but also an Athlon Turion or Intel Dual Core can be had. At $50 - $100 more would buy an even better machine.
So the question has to be asked , "Is it worth it?"
Of course, to buy a machine in that weight-class would cost considerably more....maybe$1,500 to $2,500+...
Errr....something to weigh.
