| Shadows under desktop icons :(
Hello guys,
I already ran a google search for this one. Tried all the solutions which include:
1) System Information > Advanced > Performance Settings > Show shadows under icons is unchecked
2) Desktop > Properties > Desktop > Customize Desktop > Web . Everything is unchecked!
I dont understand it. I just temporarily changed my 7600GT for a 7600GS, booted my PC, and windows ran a hardware check, and didnt successfully install the drivers (as usual). I rebooted, and apparently my Nvidia drivers were now recognized, and the shadows were under the icons! Its really getting on my nerves. I even tried TweakXP and chose the option to repair the icons, but to no avail
Can anyone point me in the right direction for fixing this issue?? |

System Information > Advanced > Performance Settings > Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop.
Uncheck it.
Right-click Desktop > Arrange Icons By > Lock Web Items on Desktop. Try that too.

Hey Bipolar.
Already did those steps. Problem still persists.
The wallpaper is also of JPG format. This is really annoying! |

I'm thinking the driver install did not go well. I would try using Detonator Destroyer and do a clean reinstall of the video driver. Follow the instructions closely to remove all traces of the old drivers.
I'm not sure I understand your complaint that the wallpaper is in jpg format. What do you mean by that? Any jpg can be set to wallpaper.
