    YouTube Search Help (I'm a YouTube Newbie)

    Hello, Everyone,
    I do not frequent YouTube.com often and consider myself a YouTube newbie, so please pardon my inexperience. I am trying to search by video category, but have no idea how to (by video category, I mean those such as Comedy, Education, Entertainment, and Pets & Animals). For example, I would like to search for "running," but only for videos listed in the Pets & Animals video category. How can I do that? Thank you.

    Youtube is run by Google and uses the same Boolean search engine. You can exclude a term my putting a hyphen in front of it. Hence;

    running jogging -animal -dog -emu -ostrich -horse

    would search for running and jogging, but would exclude any results with those keywords.

    Thanks for the quick reply. How do I go about searching only videos in the Pets & Animals video category? It would seem a bit silly to put a hyphen in front of all the other video categories (running -Autos & Vechicles -Comedy -Education -Entertainment -Film and Animation). Thanks.

    Thanks for the link. I watched it sometime ago (either earlier this year or late last year), and just watched it again, trying to figure out if any of those commands will help me with my specific situation. I cannot think of any though, unfortunately. Let me know if you can. Thanks.

    Well with the info provided in that video, you should be able to find what your looking for..
    Do a search like this.

    site:Youtube "running.pets.put another search term here" see if that returns what you want..
