| Need some advice regarding scanners
Hi All,
I've to scan A4 & legal size documents quite often, though not too many at a time. I intend to use this scanner at home. OCR capability would be a definite plus. Also an acceptable photo scan quality is fine; I don't need a super high photo scan quality.
Thus can you please suggest me a good enough color scanner (preferably USB 2.0) for this purpose, within a budget of 2K-4K INR or lower? |

Finding a flatbed scanner that can scan legal size is pretty hard to find these days. Most max-out at standard letter size. Try looking at one that has a dock feeder attached to the top of the flatbed. Like you see on a copier. You can feed your legal document in to be scanned. Most all scanners come with some form of OCR software. Omni-Page is the best, but can be pricey.

ok... Well, if that's the case, then I'd rather do with budget scanners than sticking to legal size... 'cause I can scan the larger papers in parts and join with softwares, but spending more for the same would be more difficult
Forget about the legal size then, please suggest me the low budget scanners for atleast A4 sizes! |

Canon makes a nice scanner for well under a hundred dollars. Catch it on sale for around $65. It runs straight off the USB port for both power and data. If you weant to move to the $100-$150 range, HP has a couple of good ones. I'm sorry I can't provide you with the exact model numbers, but the mid priced HP scanners are the 3000 series. I have the HP 4850 which retails around $299.
