| All parts are compatible, yet new build doesn't work!
This thing doesn't POST.
I've done every thing available to test the parts for any errors or problems, so that's not the problem.
I've done a bench test, bios and cmos reset and all the rest, such as going one piece at a time etc.
Literally everything you could do.
I have a GA-EP35-DS3P motherboard.
An Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 processor.
GeForce 8800GT Sonic.
Corsair 500w compatible power supply.
I know all these parts are compatible.
I've tried with and without RAM. The RAM is compatible. Tried a different RAM slot too.
The mobo load lights all come up, and the CPU fan doesn't go round. I sent the mobo back to Gigabyte and they told me that they fixed it. I still get the same problem.
I know the CPU isn't fried because it works on another computer. I know the mobo isn't fried or broken because Gigabyte tested it.
Anybody PLEASE!! It's doing my head in and cost so much money.
I get no beeps. The speakers are plugged in.

| Well, that's a big problem. Is the power for the CPU plugged into the mobo?
Is the CPU fan plugged into the mobo?
2 things come to mind:
Bad CPU fan or mobo header
Bad mobo CPU header |

Have you tested the Power Supply? I don't know this for sure, but it seems to me that if one of the voltages was bad, things might try to boot but not be able to do so. I've heard good things about Corsair PSUs, but there's a chance you got a dud or one of the wires is loose or something.
That's weird about the CPU fan too, try plugging a different fan into that header and see if it spins, and try plugging the CPU fan into a different header. Also, check to make sure any stray wires aren't caught in the blades. |

Okay well first off, I sent the mobo back to Gigabyte to get it checked over and repaired.
They sent it back to me saying they fixed the fan header. I tried it barebones, and I got the same problem. A technician then phoned me up to discuss the problem, and they said the fan not going (only flickering during power up) is do to the fan speed control.
He then admitted himself that it's impossible to affect the fan speed control because I can't even post. The even bigger problem is, the first few times I had the machne running, the fan went fine.
Also, I have tested my power supply. All plugs are in as they should be.
I have also tested the CPU. It's not fried.
It's like some imaginary problem is going on, because everything is as it should be. |

Take the MOBO out of the box check for any extra standoffs that could be causing a short then isolate the board (set it on a piece or card board) then put in the bare essentials/ Mem, video card etc. then plug it in and see if it will start, just short the 2 power pins with a screwdriver if you don't have the power button hooked up.

have you taken and plugged the cpu fan into another fan header to see if it will spin...
i can't see all the fan headers being set on that fan speed control... your cpu fan should run no matter what... it seems to me the problem is still there..

Yes I have.
The CPU fan works in any other header, but I don't want to leave it in there because it doesn't use the same amount of speed or power.
Either way, the motherboard still does not post regardless of where the fan is plugged in. |

i'd be RMA'ing the board again.. tell them you want a new board... sounds like you have a bad board... plain and simple ... the cpu fan should come on , not stay off until some kind of cpu speed control makes it work... your cpu would fry in my opinion... |

Yep. Send the board back...
If anything, I've seen CPU fans hit full throttle on a boot and then back off. Reasoning there is taking a "cold" chip to temp; you don't want a drastic change in temp, so full throttle the fan for a few seconds on boot. |
