Looks like a good build to me. All parts are compatible and should work well together.

While Thermaltake isnt a bad brand, their power supplies are a little weak
This Antec is the best bang for buck at the moment and is as cheap BEFORE the rebate...
    Newegg.com - Antec Basiq BP500UB 500W ATX12V Version 2.01 Power Supply 100 - 240 V UL, CB, CE, CSA, TUV, FCC - Power Supplies

Unless your specific goal is overclocking, i think you could trim a little off the memory price...
    Newegg.com - pqi POWER Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

And I would never pay over $25 for a DVDRW
Just get a good Liteon and save $15
    Newegg.com - LITE-ON Black 20X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL 20X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache IDE 20X DVD±R DVD Burner - CD / DVD Burners

I also dont see the point in getting a crossfire motherboard and an Nvidia card
I have a hard time justifying a motherboard for over $100 unless you have a VERY specific reason for it...
If it were my build, I'd probably be looking aty something like...
    Newegg.com - ABIT AX78 AM2+/AM2 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards

And last and least... If I was spending +$50 on a case, I'd get one that was a little more classy, had better airflow, and was alot more solid
That apevia is cheap, thin, and has poor airflow in comparison to other cases
I would put my money into something like a coolermaster or something...

I was leaning towards the Abit motherboard, it had the most features (at least the most on the board features, I am not sure about the BIOS).

I have a Q6600 desktop with 4GB of ram and that same 8800 GS and it is great.

Everybody complains about Vista because that is what is popular and they think it makes them cool.

That isn't too bad of a price, I got mine for $950, but it came with a 24" LCD as well, but some of the parts are cheaper, like the mobo.

How long before you plan on building it? Prices can change significantly weekly, or new parts can come out that are a much better deal.

There should be no issues putting it together, as long as all the parts work. There is always a small chance of getting a bad component.

Once you get the money you'll want to start another thread or bump this one again. Prices will probably change quite a bit over the next month.

I doubt youll see much, if any benefit going from 2 to 3 gigs memory
better off upgrading the CPU and video card.... (not that it would hurt to pick up that fry's deal)
    Newegg.com - AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Windsor 3.0GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 125W Dual-Core Processor - Processors
and whatever deal is best for an 8 or 9 series Nvidia card

While Im not 100% sure, I doubt your motherboard will be compatible with a tri or quad core CPU...
Your also most likely looking at a power supply upgrade as well
As far as that card "fitting"... you'd have to measure the interior of the case where the card will go
