I have just been watching Tomorrows World, a BBC science programme, that has been running for 30 years plus.
One of the items on tonights show was a keyboard replacement that projects a keyboard image onto a desk (for example). This removes the need for a bulky keyboard, or ocr systems on portable PC's or PDA's, I think this is one new idea that will run.

Kinda seems cool, but theres alot of downsides. I wish I could find that post. |

Hmmm sounds interesting. I wonder how far off they really are from producing such a product. Seems like kinda far away because as of the time that articel was written it only supports one hand
Imagine the cost of that thing too!

Looks very interesting. But I wonder if the human hand is vesatile enough to be able to aim within a certain outlined boundary.
Look at the spaces between your keys (on a standard keyboard). They are much wider than on the projected keyboard.
I wouldn't mind trying it out though  |

I remember seeying a post about this before, i think it was a news article...... I don't think i would like using this much.... I need my keyboard to be angled up at me not flat on the desk..... Kewl none the less tho

The biggest problem I see is that you would need to look at it all the time because you would have no way of referencing where your fingers are. We need to feel the keys when typing.
