search items

Deleted search history, cookies, cache etc in Safari and Firefox but past items still appear in Google search box and 'http://' search box at top of my browsers when I type first letter of a search term. Can anybody advise how I can clear these items. Items have been cleared from the History listings but not the aforementioned....Help please!

In Firefox, look in Options for Privacy.

It's not a good idea to search for sites from the address bar. It's safer to use a search engine. Hackers create their own sites using commonly misspelled words. As soon as you hit one of those pages, you're done for.
