Problem with partition in vista

I have a 250 gb hardrive and currently trying to partition it into 3 parts.

Problem 1: Whenever I use the windows default partition manager to shrink, it keeps on saying "local disk manager: access is denied" even tho i am running as the admin and with UAC disabled...


Problem 2: another problem was the maximum i could shrink was about 90 gigs, even tho this is a brand new laptop I just got today and hardly did anything yet.

Search Google for Easeus Partition Manager. Use that instead. I would advise using the boot disk that it can make, but it should work in Windows.
