Recommend a good laptop?

I need a new laptop. I think I can spend around $1000, probably a little less. I have been looking at the new hp tx2500, maybe the macbook black. I need something that makes a good combination of mobility and power. I know the hp comes with an ati graphics card, and the macbook only has intel integrated.
I need something smallish (I have to carry it around everyday). Any thoughts, opinions?

as far as mobility goes this one doesnt have good graphics card but its small and weighs 4.7 lbs

Are you going to game with it, or just work/watch movies?

Mostly work, but some games, mostly just civs 4, command and conquer, maybe sims, nothing too extravagant.
The asus is probably overkill, and won't have good enough battery life, the acer, I just don't see the advantage over the hp (the hp I have in mind has a 2.3ghz amd, ati 3200 integrated graphics, 250gb hdd, 3gb ram, wireless N, 64 bit vista, and 8 cell battery, with coupon is only $950)
Ok, so I think I am going to buy the hp, I think I am just looking for someone to temp me with a better idea.
