No, the one I just built. From my other post. I got the motherboard in today and put it together. It POSTs then says something about the HDD is detected then that the Chassis is infringed or invaded and then something about USB Over something. Then shuts down. |

Might want to start a new thread. Lots more people will actually look at it.
And might do a bench test.
Remove the motherboard from your case. Set it on something non conductive (cardboard works fine) and plug in just the bare essentials.
-CPU and heatsink
-1 stick of ram
-video
-power supply
You can power it up by touching the on/off pins with a screwdriver, or something else metal. See if it posts then. If it does, start adding parts till you find the culprit.
But you should start a new thread. |

Started the new thread....
Anyway back to this. So yeah the Water Cooling is gonna take up a good $600 easy. Now though, since the LAST thing I'll be getting is the GPUs (in hopes that by the time I am going to purchase them the price will have come down a bit). So is there a thing I have to plug into the motherboard or is it it's own system. i.e do I have to start it separate from the computer? Is there any motherboard requirements? I'm thinking the way to go is the X58 chipset though. |

Well that's what I'm saying. It doesn't have to take up $600. You can make a good setup for $250-$300. If you want to save money, get a big Rad, and then you won't need 2 loops IMO.
As far as mobo requirements, the only thing you need to check, is the CPU block, to make sure it comes with the mounting hardware for your socket. Other then that, no there is no Mobo requirements. |

Well I only said the 2 loop because I thought it was 2 loops same pump. But I think the 1 big loop would be more economical. I'd just get much better equipment and better coolant. |

alright then.
Use the DDC pump, with the acrylic top I linked to before. Get your blocks..I prefer EK for GPU's.
For CPU's, especially Quads, I'd get the Fuzion V2. Now the Quad nozzle only helps by a couple degrees, so that's up to you.
For a Rad, you can get the big 480 if you want. Or if space is a factor, then you could maybe get away with a triple rad. But your gonna need high CFM fans if you go with the triple. The 480 yo could probably get away with medium speed fans, and have decent temps still. |

Now is there any unconventional methods to making the water colder so it can help with the cooling...such as me keeping it near the window...open....where its about -5c?
(Btw fixed the problem with the other one. SOOOOO many things were out of place.) |

I have had my Rad out side in the winter and when benching hard I have put the rad in a bucket of ice .
If you want to go extreem you can get rid of the rad in your loop and replace it with a water chiller ( guts from a AC put into a cooler and your water pumps though it )

Yeah I've heard of people using buckets of ice water before. And I've even seen people mount the rad to an outside widow ledge.
If your going for extreme, look into a chiller like console said, or TEC unit. They are pricey, but your load temps are gonna be in the negatives.
For most of us though, water will cool down well enough. |
