| my new computer freezes when i have too much data income from net
hi everyone ,
i have a wireless modem , with my old computer i didnt have any problem.
i could browse multiple pages , download with fastest speed ...
but now , with my new pc i cannot download , cuz it freezes when too much kilobytes loads into my computer , or when i use too many tabs it happens ...
i installed new windows , i tried xp and vista , even with fresh installed windows i have same problem , i think my modem conflicts with new computers cuz it happens to my Sony Vaio SZ640 .
but these problems wont happen on Pentium 3 or old P4s ,
i was wondering if there is a solution for this or any patch i can use ?
tnx ,
BTW ,
my config :
MB : Asus P5KPL
HDD : 500 SATA2 Samsung
cpu : Q6600
VGA : Geforce 8800 GT
RAM : 2Gig
Regards

Have you downloaded the latest drivers for your network device?
Modems are separate from the PC and cannot "conflict" in the classic sense. All it is is an Ethernet connection (usually) from the modem to the network port. As long as you're not using a crossover cable, it can't conflict per se.
You did not mention your modem type or brand. If it is a USB modem, there could be a problem with the USB controller. AMD-chipset motherboards do have some USB issues. If this is the case, switching to Ethernet may solve your problem. |

i agree , its a wireless modem that connect to pc by usb cable . but the matter is , theres no such problem on old computers but i have this problem with my laptop and new computer and my dads ( thats new generation too )
i mean it should be a conflict between my modem and new systems |

as bipolarbill says, you need to update all your drivers on your system as this will very very likely solve your problem you are experiencing. Also go with a ethernet cable instead of the USB cable, this will also give you better speeds and stability in the long run too.

Update your motherboard drivers and the WiFi adapter drivers.
Your modem is not even connected to the PCs, so it's not a conflict. That word is used much more often than it should be these days. Besides, there is a WiFi router between the modem and the adapter. What about that? |

Why would you plug a wireless modem into a PC? I have a headache...
Anyway, stop using a USB connection and your problems will go away. |
