Monitor not receiving signal from system

I'm building a new system with specs below

Rosewill 600W
OCZ SLI-ready 4GB DDR2 Dual Channel 800
Palit Radeon HD 4850 GDDR3 521 MB
Intel Core 2 Quad 6600
Seagate Barracuda 250GB SATA 16mb cache
LG DVD/CD Burner
NZXT Apollo Black
Asus P5Q Pro LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX
Sunbeam Core-Contact Freezer

System would start but monitor would show "No Signal" message. I'm sure the PSU works because everything powers on fine. The LED on the P5Q at least lights up. The fan on the 4850 does run. The case does not come with system speaker cables so I can't hear the beeps. The heatsink is huge and it took a bit of wrestling to get it in so I was wondering if the weight could be the problem. I don't have spare parts so I can't really test them separately. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Change the monitor out then change the cable and then try another port on the video card or another one all together. If your mobo has onboard, try that too.

Process of elimination.

cut back to just the basic parts needed. 1 stick of memory, cpu, vid card. HD. see what happens
