I appreciate JP's and ShyGuy's help.
Without ya'll couldn't do this eheh.

2 cents. In building, make sure to ground yourself, some extra static can fry chips. The rest is really kinda like legos, just a lot more expensive, use tie-wraps for wires where you can, it helps when you need to move things later. Also, don't freak if when you turn it on the first time nothing happens. It can be easy to skip something and there is help for working those things through.
I don't see if you got a gfx yet. Go ATI, at the moment they have great performance/$, and crossfire has better cross-card compatibility than sli.

Listen, seriously... DONT overclock...
Enjoy your new build for awhile...
Get to know how it performs as is...
You can do real damage if your not experienced...
your not going to get that much if any real world performance gain, unless you take it to extremes...
Extremes that could potentially brick your nice new machine
Trust me, your going to be VERY happy with your build "as is"
On a side not... thanks for the accolade, but I learned ALOT of what I know from this site and other members...
It's a major team effort, I just happened to chime in on this thread at the right time

As JP said Build it and run it stock first. Give it some time. Save Overclocking for later. If you want to do something fun with it Join the Folding @ Home Team. We have a few members who will be more than willing to teach you how to Over Clock that beast SAFELY.
Looks like your going to have a nice Computer thanks to the fact you worked with these guys to get the right parts. Good Luck with your new build.

JP and crew, I will definitely enjoy my system without OC'ing I know I will have a system that is fast and neat.
Last thing I want to do is mess up my brand new system.
<----< this is a guy that is upgrading from an old 2004 AMD 3500+ Compaq computer.
The only good part about my old computer is my super hot Nvidia 7950gt + a good razer sound card.
I know where to come for anymore advices for Video card and LCD monitors. (since I am getting those two soon).
Here.
I know you guys don't have to do this, but I appreciate everyone taking time from their day to help noobies like me.
Feels like Christmas came early for me.
I will post pictures when I get the system up and running.
Also what type of tape should I use to tape up the wires?
I don't want something permanent that leaves a mark and sticky forever, just something easy, cheap, and neat.
I do have Folding @ Home with my Playstation 3, I will definitely join your team to contribute my support.
I use to be with a different team.

Do NOT use any type of tape...
Zip ties and velcro straps are probably the most widely used
I have found both, at local dollar stores with no problems Quote:

Its nice when people follow through and update us to the final product...
Too often we invest time and effort into someone and they get what they want and dissapear until they have a problem..

One last piece of advice. DO NOT GET IN A HURRY! Check and double check everything. Quickest way to screw it up is to rush yourself slap it together and turn the power on.
Fried a motherboard because i was in a hurry one time. |

Do they attach well?
I will try my best to put the wires in a way so its not all over the middle of the system. |

I will be on these forums with my camera ready if I screw it up, you guys can see the picture lol.
My room is messy so don't pay attention to anything else other than my computer .
I have carpet in my room, should I get a computer stand?
I have the antec 1200, little worried that's going to sit on the ground and catch on fire since the PSU is at the bottom. |
