It depends on what game and what resolution..
But in most cases, the 4870 is cheaper and performs very close to the GTX 260.
There is also a newer revision of the GTX260 out, called the GTX 260 216. That performs better then the 4870. |

Yep, the GTX260 216 core/stream processor (normal one is 192, & GTX280 is 240) is right on par with a HD4870 (very slight advantage to the Radeon when compared to the stock clocked GTX 260 216 cores, but when comparing Factory Overclocked GTX260 216's their about the same in performance), some games give the nod to the ATI, others to nvidia, but it varies. the GTX 260 is roughly about the same price as the HD4870 now with the GTX260 216's in the upper $200's lower $300's range. |

By the time I am ready to get a Video Card here...prices will drastically go down..that means I can get a very good card later on..
Video card technology is moving faster than the actual video games...which its good for me  |
