Compaq Presario 1600s boot up.

I need help. My cousin gave me his Compaq Presario. When i booted up a blue screen appeared that said "xubuntu" and asked for a user name and password.
Neither he nor I know the user name or password. It was a company computer given to him. Is there anyway around this problem?

yeah take the mobo battery out and that should do it.

yeah take the mobo battery out and and put it back in after about 5 minutes. that should do it. when you do take it out make sure that the PC is unpluged from the wall otherwise it won't work.

when you say mobo battery.. are you meaning the main power source or is this some "thing" i'm not aware of... ? lol.

nevermind that last post.. i figured out the mobo.. common sense shoulda got it for me.. lol. thank you for your help.

the motherboard is abbreviated to mobo here (it took me a while to) but the battery looks like one of those watch batteries, just bigger
