| Buying a new computer.
I'm looking to buy a new computer online, and I have a budget of about 650-700 dollars. It can either be custom built or pre-made, it doesn't really matter to me.
I don't really have much knowledge on the best deals and the best places to buy computers, so I need a bit of assistance.
Here's what I need:
A gaming computer that has these minimum specs. - 2.5 GHz processor
- 1 Gigabyte RAM
- A 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
Thanks in advance.
If you need any more specifications on what I need, just let me know. |

What do you all need in that computer? Do you need a monitor, keyboard/mouse, operating system, etc? |

Windows XP or Vista are both just fine, preferably XP.
If you could find me a new keyboard without going over the budget, that'd be cool too. My keyboard's kinda old.
My mouse and monitor are fine, though.
Thanks again!
Edit: Sorry if I took a while to post, I didn't expect to get a reply so fast. ^^

would you be willing to buy the parts seperately & build it yourself? (usually can save some cash doing that & get more for your money)

Well, if you let me know which parts to buy and stuff, I could put it together.
I just need assistance, because I have no clue what I have to buy to make a computer work. |

couple of Pre-built ones I found in that price range, good mid range GPU, good CPU's, & specs. just minus a Monitor. the Mice in both could be better, but at least they include a Keyboard & mouse with them. Newegg.com - $500 - $750, NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT, Desktop PCs, Desktop PCs, PCs & Laptops
personally I'd go for the Quad core. even more so since its cheaper. don't know why, the Quad system is generally more expensive, plus larger PSU, larger HDD, don't know why its $50 cheaper than the normally cheaper AMD X2 Dual core system...
as to parts list, some others can suggest some parts for the budget, have to take off in a bit here, get some sleep before work tomorrow. but figured I'd ask in that last post to get that out of the way. |

Thanks a lot. I might go with the quad if no cheaper option is available. If anyone else has any suggestions, feel free to let me know. |
