What is your actual budget and what do you expect this PC to do?
I'd go with something like this
Newegg.com - AMD Athlon X2 BE-2300 Brisbane 1.9GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 45W Dual-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops
Newegg.com - Open Box: BIOSTAR GF8200 M2+ AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 8200 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Newegg.com - Rosewill R222-P-BK Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Computer Cases
Newegg.com - Antec Basiq BP-350B 350W ATX12V Version 2.01 Power Supply - Power Supplies
Newegg.com - MASSCOOL 5F9001B1H3 80mm Ball CPU Cooler - CPU Fans & Heatsinks

believe it or not, my budget is below $200, I am 14 and do not have a job, I have grown up with computers all my life so I do know a decent amount about them, nice motherboard richeemxx, hope when I decide to buy my computer that mobo will still be available.

Gateway FX mBTX Barebones Computer Case w/Intel DQ965 Socket 775 Motherboard & 250W PSU Gateway
Barebones case - Intel 965 Mobo = $75
Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2200 2.2GHz 800MHz 1MB Socket 775 CPU Intel E2200
Intel E2200 Dual Core = $65
Nanya 2GB DDR2 RAM PC2-6400 240-Pin DIMM Nanya
2 Gig stick DDR2 PC800 memory = $24
Lite-On LH-20A1S 20x DVD±RW DL SATA Drive (Black) LiteOn LH-20A1S
20x Sata DVDRW = $20
For under $200, that's a pretty solid starter PC.
Or considering your first list at about $200...
HP De-Branded Pentium 4 530J 3.0GHz 1GB 160GB DVD±RW No Operating System TS-0001A-P4-161
HP De-Branded Pentium Dual-Core E2180 2.0GHz 1GB 250GB DVD±RW No Operating System TS-0006A-DC662
If you stuck with your first list I would get THIS motherboard instead... and skip the video card for now until you can afford something better.Last edited by JPMiller; January 20th, 2009 at 09:25 PM.
