Battlefield 1942 wont play

I have the game battlefield 1942 with the road to rome expansion pack. I am running an acer aspire 5315 with Vista home premium 32 bit, 120 gb HDD, 2 gb ram and an intel 965 express chipset with graphic media accelerator X3100. Now the game used to work perfectly, but then I downloaded the update for my graphics card, the intel chipset. Now the game starts, screen adjusts resolution, goes black like its about to play, then nothing The game worked fine until I installed the update, now it wont work. and I have tried to uninstall the update, but it can only be done by uninstalling the driver which completely screws up everything on my computer HELP PLEASE!!!!!

have you tried uninstalling & reinstall the game? give that a try & see if it works. might have to reset the games graphic settings to defaults to get it to work, could be some options were enabled from before that aren't compatible with the new Driver update.

Yep. You probably need to reinstall the game so it can reset the video settings.

cool guys, thanks. Ill post the results as soon as I find the original discs. (ive been taking advantage of the 1.6 patch and only using the R2R disc

Okay reinstalled, same problem. Reupdated the patch to 1.6, same problem. Have yet to do the expansion pack, but I dont think it will do anything different. Could it be a problem with the discs?
