    dell inspiron b130 problem???

     
    My operating system was wnidows xp and I upgraded to windows xp pro; so, my problem is now since I upgraded my o/s, now I tried to install my dsl but, the install software says I need a NIC. When I had my oem system I did not have this problem?? I hope someone can help me out

    When you install a new OS you must install the drivers for the mobo/nic/video card etc...Your Dell should have come with a drivers cd.

    I download the Broadcom 10/100 ethernet controller driver and that should have solved my problem but, it didn't so, I opened the device manager and the ethernet controller is showing a problem. What could the plausible reasons for this???

    Did you also install the chipset drivers?

    Yes, I installed the chipset driver from dell; I never had this problem before I upgraded to windows xp pro; Is there any big difference between windows xp and xp pro o/s?
