    SSD raid 0

Are there any liabilities to using raid 0 with vista home prem and 2 solid state HD's.
Would a better choice be Velociraptors?

There are HUGE Liabilities with Raid 0....If One drive or the controller has a problem - you loose ALL data.

I think he is wanting to know if the liability goes up when using SSD drives versus using a mechanical drive.

To answer your question waynezo, using a SSD isn't going to make RAID 0 less or more reliable over using a mechanical drive.

Having SSD is Raid 0 is a huge performance increase as well.

I understand that, but what about SSD vs Velociraptor in raid 0?

The SSD is going to be a lot faster, especially if you go with Intel X25 drives.

Actually I think the SSD will be lots more reliable due to its non-mechanical nature. With that said, you better have a good reason for wanting a raid 0 . One SSD is plenty fast for most people. You would be much better off spending the money on a better CPU or graphics card.
