| CPU cooling, which is better?
I know this might be a shot in the dark but hope someone will have info on the "INTEL Certified Liquid CPU Cooling System kit". I happen to have a sunbeam cooler a friend gave me, almost new.
So kind of wondering which would be better, the stock liquid coolers that places like IBuypower(lameazzes) use or the sunbeam which I have little faith in also. I don't have any tech info on the liquid one, as I can't seem to find any on the net. As for the sunbeam they are a little nicer in that area. The intel cooler is starting to scream like a little girl because the coolant is starting to run low but probably still has at least a few months left. Funny coming from a cooler that should last at least two years, and this is only 5 months. Course the first one I had only lasted 2 months.
IBuypower doesn't seem like they are going to honor there warranty and being short on cash I'm stuck with these two as options.
With the Liquid cooling my cpu (Q9450) is idling around 120-129 F. Guess the question is which u guys think will cool better? The sunbeam does have four copper pipelines but that looks like it's about the only good thing to say about it.
Anyways thanks for any advice.

Ok so i'm confused, you have a stock cooler? Or liquid cooling?
And your thinking about replacing it with the core contact?
EDIT:
Also wanted to say the "core contact" line of heatsinks is actually very good. |

It's more like a stock liquid cooler, most these units that go out are pushed with these coolers. |

| AFAIK, there is no such thing as "stock liquid cooling" besides a very select few graphics cards.
So you have the liquid system already, and it's just making noise? Is there any way to add distilled water to it? |

Many of the iBUYPOWER systems have a self contained liquid cooling setup for the CPU Karma.
The Sunbeam Core Contact Cooler is one of the better coolers on the market. It ranks as one of the top 5 on Frostytech: Frostytech's Top 5 Heatsinks

hehe.. guess that shows how much I look at store bought systems.
So is there a way to add liquid to it? Surely there is. |

No way to add anything, well, I could use a hypodermic needle, duck tape and macgyver the thing but probably not a good idea.
At the time was working almost 12 hours a day seven days a week. Reason I didn't have time to build mine this time. Didn't want to get any DOAs and not have the time to deal with it. Course luck would have it, it was DOA. The HDD came out of the bay bashed into the MOBO bent the front panel pins and all the front panel switches came off. Ibuypowers reply; You fixed it, what do u want us to do about it?
Well, if this cooler is that highly rated then it's probably better.
Thanks for the info EDit:I didn't notice till it was too late that the link u posted shows the 120mm fan. The link I posted and the one I have is the 92mm fan. After a painful install onto a P5N-T deluxe
because of the on-board copper sinks it idles at 130-140 so as much as I hate to open it back up the old one is going back in for now.

I have a gigabyte dq6 that with sinks on it like that, had to modify it by cutting off part of one the them to fit my aftermarket cooler on.
It's hard to believe a watercooling system wouldn't have a fill plug or something on the reservoir. Watercooling is quite good, you won't really see reviews on their cooling ability because of the amount of heat the water can absorb. |
