yep, you'll want to reformat your hard drive anytime doing a major system upgrade like this, to get best performance out of the system.
especially if your going to be running Windows 7 RC on it, you'll want to reformat the drive and install the OS. Just make sure to back up any important data first (to another Hard drive or Recordable CD/DVD media)

Other than that, how can the video card compare to a Nvidia? Specifically the 8600 and 9500, but i'd like to know generally. Thanks guys for your help. |

Radeon 4670 competes generally with the Geforce 9600GT, which is more than double the performance of a Geforce 8600/9500GT.
as to the hard drive, if you have the windows disc/discs, after installing it, you'll want to reboot from disc and wipe the drive clean, reformat, partition (or is it partition, reformat, forget off hand), then install a clean install of windows to the newly formatted disc.
otherwise you might be able to do a repair install of Windows on the hard drive, basically uninstalls/installs old/new chipset drivers, GPU and whatever else drivers, and lets you retain your existing install of windows intact. though if your having any problems software wise, or virus's, spyware, etc etc, now, it'll follow over to the new system, especially if the hard drive is heavily fragmented, lowering performance as well.
Look here: Tom's Hardware - Benchmark Mass Effect
middle one is the 4670. (it really depends on the games run, some favor ATI, others Nvidia)

Ok yesterday my computer failed on me, it took over 24 hours to get it back up and running >_>.
ANYWAY i got my NEW computers case, thanks to stupid ass UPS in order to make sure the rest of it is OK i have to check outside every 15 minutes. They left my case outside without ringing the doorbell or nothing -_-. |

when you reformat your system, you install the onboard audio drivers with the chipset drivers and use the onboard audio chip. or you if you have a Home Theater or HDTV with HDMI ports you can use the Radeon to Process HD Audio and plug in an HDMI cable from the card to the Receiver or TV and get audio that way.
Either way when you reformat the system you'll install the drivers and control panel software to use the onboard or GPU audio. |
