MS-DOS switch help

Hi there,

I'm trying to create a batch file that will open a pcsws.exe but I also need to load the config file with it automatically. Does anyone know what switch I need to use, or where I can find a list of related switches?

Switches have to built into the EXE file.

You can try: pcsws.exe /? to see if it has built in.

I don't think pcsws.exe comes with DOS so if what Steve suggested doesn't work you'll have to find some documentation on the program.

Yup. Generally the command line to load a data file along with a program is just to put it on the command line, e.g. d:\programs\wp\wordperfect.exe c:\mywpfiles\myfilename Some programs may need a switch like /loadfile=myfilename but most don't. The /? or /help as mentioned above should display the list of parameters available. You may also need the file's location as well unless the program has had its file location setting set to where you actually keep your data files.

Thanks for the suggestions! /? did nothing so I assume that means there are no switches built in. Just as a last measure I typed the exe file and then the config file name on the same line and it worked! I should have tried that first but I'm still learning DOS so I didn't know. Thanks again!!
