Building a New PC

Hi I am trying to build a new desktop for gaming mainly

For the past five years I have been using a laptop and thus do not have enough knowledge of desktop components to really understand what parts to get with out some sort of assistance...

I mainly just want some help with what i should get...

my price range is around $1000 but i think i could get $1500 or even $2000 if its necessary please give what you would advise on all.

i want to be able to run direct X 11, so i will be able to play more recent games once they come out both 64 and 32bit will work it would be great if you could tell me which you suggest

I would like to be able to play Crisis and assassins creed 2 on high if possible with my range

most likely i will be getting these parts from newegg so if you could list parts from that website it would be preferable but if you would suggest somewhere else please tell me the site

Add another $100 or so for mouse and keyboard (its preference to what you like and feel comfortable using).

There is a rough list that will play assasins creed 2 easily maxed.... and will play crysis maxed with mabye a few low FPS (you really need dual gpu's to max crysis)....

There are things you can change etc... You may want an SSD or blu-ray drive... or mabye a cheaper graphics card or i7 cpu........

Looks like a pretty solid list, obviously you have friends that know what they're saying/doing, unlike many of our new members LOL.

only thing I'd change in that list is maybe the Speakers, have never heard of that Pixxo Brand, but I know many of The Logitech and Creative Speaker sets are pretty decent/good.

Haven't used a dedicated PC Speaker set in about 4 or 5 years, been using 5.1 Home theater recievers and speakers since then, but I know Logitech usually makes some good sets.

(in past I have had Altec Lansing, Boston Acoustic, JBL and Yamaha, but bought my brother a nice Logitech set for his laptop and gaming PC a few years ago)

I have one more question, i need some reasons as to why im going to get this when i ask my parents say they are not looking to spend that much does anyone have enough experience with manipulation to give me some advice? i thought i was close when i first post but now my parents have gotten really iffy HELP!!
I might be able to do something about computer art if theres anything i might not be able to use on my laptop
