Upgrade cd and hdd benifits

hey i have a assigment to do on the potential advantages of upgrading a cd rw drive and a hdd and potential health and saftey risks during instalation, i so far have got for upgrading the hdd it will have more space, be faster and allow you to run applications quicker and also it could be quieter. for upgrading a cd drive all i can think of is you will be able to burn disks quicker and also be able to burn dvd's - so far i can think of no possible health and saftey risks. i would be very greatful if you could get back to me asap - thanks guys!

As with any electrical item, you should be careful to avoid electric shock. Unplug it before working on it. Be careful of capacitors that may hold a stored charge.

Oh, and after you've upgraded, you may develop carpal tunnel syndrome from overuse...

I hate homework - advantages actually depend on the components installed vs the ones upgraded. Generally speaking higher capacity, faster speeds, less heat, greater compatibility (in the case of ide vs sata as many new boards are coming with less ide connections if any at all) For cd - dvd or blu-ray of course greater compatibility across more media, the ability to use said media, dvd/bluray add more storage capacity over a cd.

Health risks, electrocution, respiratory issues from dust, potential cuts from removing the case (IDK sounds good tho)
