If Im going to have to end up replacing pretty much every aspect of my PC I'm gonna end up going back to consoles, or just waiting 2 years and buy a Pre-Built PC from ibuypower.com or cyberpowerpc.com and not run the risk of it not working. |

Yeah was about to mention the psu, can't say I've ever heard the name and didn't see much in the way of reviews other than what was on Newegg and those immediately standout as saying stay away!
Couple things stand out about your post, one the ECS board. No post can be tons of issues, but ECS is notorious for being very picky when it comes to two things. One being ram the other being psu's. They do not like to boot if there is even the minimal issue with the psu.
Now on the other hand not knowing what you did to trouble shoot it could be that it was just about any other of the several issues that cause no boot. Then of course there is the fact you said one of your sticks of memory went bad (actually had the pins pulled off if I recall). That makes me think maybe you were forcing the issue a little much.
For me I always test build outside the box before hand. This way you eliminate a ton of extra possible issues grounding inside the case being one of the biggest issues I've seen.

This is a part of your post that really throws me off? Quote: |
My VERY first problem with motherboards came when i got a new case and cpu cooling unit. Alas, I trasfered all the innards of my pc to this new case while installing the new cooling unit, which was a watercooling unit. Well, that went horibly wrong. The WCU completely wasted that motherboard, along with the CPU (Q6600).
| Did it spring a leak or what? Are you certain it didn't cause an issue with the PSU which landed you where you are now?
I can't comment on the backplate issue but reading a few reviews of the ZALMAN FS-C77 it does mention that you need to make sure you have enough spacing and its not compatible with all mobo's |

The WCU did not spring a leak, I leak-tested it for a solid day. The backplate on it was a metal plate, I assume that being metal it touched 2 contacts and shorted the board and cpu on startup. |

After 3 MB failures you need to take a very close look at your PSU. I would be very surprised if this isn't your culprit.

Ok, can do that. If it seems to all you that my PSU could be causing problems I guess I'll listen.
However, why would the new boards hate my PSU and my Intel DP965LT take it just fine? |

Well I've never run into the issue but it could be something as simple as the boards you've bought not having enough clearance for the backplates, or perhaps the standoffs aren't tall enough to accommodate them. |
