No slam against your power supply, I am not familiar enough with it to give comment on it. I do know the power supply can effect every piece of equipment in your computer and it doesn't have to be spitting sparks to be bad. My guess would be the PSU's power regulation is out of specs, this happens sometime with any brand or price range (just more common in cheaper brands). If it was only one MB I'd suspect it shorting out on the case but, with 3 MB changes I don't believe that's the problem. As far a the Intel board not having a problem I would assume that it is more forgiving of power fluctuations and if use longterm it's life span would be shorten also.

If it is the PSU I'm suprised it only fried the boards. I suggest you pick up a good quality PSU like OCZ, Silverstone, or Antec.
As for why you've never had a problem with Intel boards, I don't know I've never had problem with them either back when I shopped elsewhere for my parts.

So, is it almost safe to say an Intel board would be more forgiving? Because there is a nice P45 intel board I've had my eye on for some time. IntelBoard |

Yea I like the Intel and that Gigabyte board, but they are DDR3, and like I said. If I am to buy a new PSU, Mobo and RAM, hell I might as well get a whole new computer. And I dont have the money for that right now
Pretty much I'm looking for a board that wont require me to get a new PSU or RAM, that is rock-solid and has tremendous reviews.
Im not going to use that ZALMAN cpu cooler beacuse 1) Its way too F'in loud (cant lower the RPM on it either -and- 2) I dont have a good rap with backplates. I'm going to try that ArcticFreezer 7 pro push-pin cooler. |
