I am a moderate gamer, love to play all the games that require the best graphics, and can't stand a slow computer.
Recommendations please!!!!!! | No Budget? what Athlon X2 are you running?
the 80GB IDE/PATA Hard drive could definitely be upgraded something like a Western Digital Caviar Black Series 500, 640 or 750GB should be fine (SATA 3.0Gbps aka SATA II, 7200RPM, 32MB Cache)
Motherboard is a bit old, upgrade limitations there.
RAM should still be fine if its DDR2 800MHz, if not, I'd look into upgrades there.
No Mention of the Power Supply used?
9800GTX is still a decent low mid range card.
when you say moderate gamer, what do you mean exactly?
Rich I saw your link, and DANG, that Open Box 5870 I saw for $287 I can say with certainty that won't be there for long LOL.

My power source is a Silencer 750W
I mean moderate as in I do not play WOW or Diablo, etc. for hours on end. Rather, I play games like Mass Effect and Fallout on occasion. Butt I like to be able to play them on highest settings no prob. |

haha oops forgot, umm I'm not too sure on the budget, I just don't want to over do it and get a rediculous computer that I won't even utilize to its full potential. Is it possible for me to descently upgrade my computer w/o having to get another mobo? Like whats the best possible CPU I can put in my current mobo?
I guess you could say I don't wna spend more than $500-600 approx. |
